Lamination is the process of adding a layer(s) of plastic coating to paper/cardboard to increase strength. Cards and tags that will see heavy usage, be exposed to the outdoors, damp or dirty environments and/or are meant to last are good candidates for lamination.
Cards and tags are small printed pieces with a multitude of applications. Cards and Tags are used as:

Cards and Tags can be printed as individual cards/tags, or as decks or sets. (Tags typically include a hole or slot so they can be hung on chains or hooks, etc.)
Laminating cards and tags provides protection, increasing durability and longevity. Lamination options include glossy, matte, or soft-touch finishes. Lamination can be applied with a sealed-edges or flush-cut to the edge of the card/tag. Rounded corners are an option.
